A construction worker was killed this afternoon after a hook broke off of a crane at a construction site on Maple Avenue in Dallas. The crane operator was raising the hook when the cable snapped and fell on top of the man.
Officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the accident, which occurred at the site of a new high-rise condominium building.
Turner construction is overseeing the project, but the victim was working for a subcontractor.
