62,369 model year 2007 Chrysler vehicles have been recalled to reprogram a brake system computer to avoid the loss of anti-lock brakes and traction control. The recall includes 2007 models of Chrysler Sebring, Chrysler 300, Jeep Commander, Jeep Compass, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Nitro, Dodge Magnum, Dodge Charger and Dodge Caliber vehicles.
62,369 model year 2007 Chrysler vehicles have been recalled to reprogram a brake system computer to avoid the loss of anti-lock brakes and traction control.
Chrysler said the instrument panel warning lamps might illuminate in a small number of vehicles and be followed by the loss of its Electronic Brake Distribution, anti-lock brake system, traction control and speedometer functions that could cause loss of control over the vehicle.
The recall includes 2007 models of Chrysler Sebring, Chrysler 300, Jeep Commander, Jeep Compass, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Nitro, Dodge Magnum, Dodge Charger and Dodge Caliber vehicles.
Vehicle owners are scheduled to be notified no later than February 2007.
DaimlerChrysler said no accidents or injuries have been reported because of the computer problem.
In a separate recall, Chrysler is recalling over 6,000 2007 Chrysler Sebrings. The heating and cooling system computer will be reprogrammed to deal with potential problems with windshield defrosting.
