Whether a victim of abuse, witness to a heinous crime, or involved in some other form of trauma, your risk for post-traumatic stress disorder may depend on your genetic makeup, new research said today. A study by researchers at Emory University found that of adults who had endured abuse as a child, those with a specific gene variant were more likely to have symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.
