A young teen driver fled the scene after striking a 13-year-old boy who was riding his bike in Rowlett Wednesday. According to a witness, the driver stopped a few blocks away and was later arrested on a charge of failure to stop and render aid. The boy was knocked unconscious by the blow. A helicopter flew the victim to Parkland Memorial Hospital, and his condition was not available at the time of this post.
More than 60,000 pedestrians are killed as a result of driver negligence in the United States each year, most of whom are school-age children or senior citizens.
