Taking a motorcycle ride with his son just after midnight this morning, a 63-year-old man died when he fell from his motorcycle. He apparently struck an object along Interstate 30 in Fort Worth. His son, who was following behind him, was not injured in the crash.

The event is still under investigation, but police indicated that the older man may have had a medical condition that contributed to the accident. Motorcycles can be very dangerous. While this accident didn’t involve larger vehicles or other issues, motorcycle riders are usually not at fault in such accidents. In fact, more than 80 percent of all multi-vehicle accidents involving motorcyclists are not the motorcyclist’s fault. Injuries caused by motorcycle accidents are, more often than not, the result of an inattentive vehicle driver who doesn’t see the motorcycle or who turns directly in front of the bike or follows too closely and runs into the back of the bike.

If you or someone you know has suffered injury or loss in a motorcycle accident involving other vehicles, contact a personal injury attorney to discuss a potential case.
